On June 9, 2025, the GENIAC 2nd Cohort Results Presentation Conference was convened at Kudankaikan in Tokyo. The event brought together nineteen companies selected under the second phase of GENIAC’s initiative to support the development of generative AI foundation models.
During the first session, participating companies presented progress and outcomes in both technology development and business execution, while hyperscalers and other computing resource providers delivered summary remarks. The second session featured an awards ceremony recognizing advanced models and notable achievements in real-world application.

Part 1: Progress Reports from GENIAC 2nd Cohort Participants and Keynote Summaries from Hyperscalers

To begin the program, Takuya Watanabe, Director of the Information Services Industry Division, Commerce and Information Policy Bureau, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), reflected on the initiatives of the second phase of GENIAC over the past six months and shared his outlook for the future.

Part 2: Awards Ceremony at the GENIAC 2nd Cohort Results Presentation

In the second part of the program, an awards ceremony was held to recognize outstanding contributions to this year’s achievements. The ceremony was presented by Satoshi Nohara, Director-General of the Commerce and Information Policy Bureau at the METI.

The GENIAC 2nd Cohort Results Presentation concluded successfully. With the 3rd Cohort now set to kick off in earnest, all eyes are on the new initiatives and outcomes that lie ahead.
